Little Lara from Utah is quite the fisherlady. She handles the rod, puts on the shrimp and catches NICE fish. Lara landed this keeper speckled trout all by herself in the backwaters in April fishing with her family. You can tell she was thrilled. !

SPRING FISHING...GREAT ACTION AWAITS YOU
Lots going on down here on the water this spring.The winter has been unusually warm here just like back home and the result is we are into summer like fishing already. In the backwaters we are seeing pompano in the passes as well as mackerel, bluefish and small sharks. The speckled trout are particularly active this year and showing up BIG.....many well over 20". Also in the bays and off the beaches we have nice action on silver trout and whiting. Snook, although still closed to harvest, are active in pre-spawn all along the beaches and passes. Redfish round out the backwater crowd and are active all along the deeper backwaters. Tarpon have arrived and providing action in the passes and rivers. Nearshore we are seeing mackerel, smaller grouper, mangrove snapper, kingfish, sharks and cobia. All and all a terrific array of targets within 20 minutes from the marina.

We are located right off the Marco River and just 20 minutes south of a pristine remote barrier island known as Key Island. This island is legend for shelling.On the trip back and forth you'll probably get to see quite a few dolphin. You can get right up alongside as they cavort in the shallow waters of the pass. You can charter a trip where we do fishing, shelling and sightseeing in whatever combination you would like. Dawn Patrol has reduced the number of charters that will be run to one trip per day only and no more than five per week. Knowing that would cause a disruption for past and present customers, we have established an affiliation with another charter operation that works out of the same marina. Sunshine Tours Inc will provide a seamless back up to Dawn Patrol with two similiar boats and a set of top notch experienced captains to provide the same type of charters with the same family emphasis and quality as Dawn Patrol. And the good news is that the rates will be in keeping with our "AFFORDABLE RATE" headline. If you call Dawn Patrol for a reservation, and we are already booked, we will arrange the contact with Sunshine Tours and insure you get the special pricing.........the same for email contacts.
